An escape room is a live, real-life puzzle game where you are “locked” in a room.
In order to get out you will need to follow clues and solve a series of puzzles to escape before the timer runs out. These games are highly immersive and place you in a story or situation that is thrilling and often extraordinary to normal life.

You are NEVER LOCKED inside any of our rooms. There will always be a door available for you to exit at any point of the game.

All of our games have a time limit of 60 minutes, however the time you spend inside is dependent on how fast you solve the puzzles and escape.
Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled booking time to allow for briefing and to maximise your time inside the room.
We can accommodate for all group speeds with additional time to continue playing if viable. We want you to have fun and we want you to escape!

Our games can accommodate 2-8 players (Séance has a maximum of 6 players).
Due to puzzle requirements inside the room, we cannot drop below 2 players. Due to space inside the room, we cannot exceed 8 players.

Of course! Our games are great for corporate team building exercises, university societies or just larger friendship groups.
If you would like to make a booking for more than one game, please contact us to arrange for a suitable time slot.

We cannot guarantee walk-ins. Please book ahead before showing up as we would hate to turn you away.
This doesn't mean you can’t play a game with us at the last minute. The booking window on our website closes 2 hours before the appointed game time, however should you be in a last minute pinch to get your escape room fix, you can always give us a call and we can arrange for something sooner if a slot is available.

We do! Head over to our gift vouchers page and choose from vouchers of either dollar value or player count. Escape room experiences are an amazing gift that will never disappoint!

All bookings are PRIVATE.
You will have the whole room to yourselves over the course of your game regardless of how many players you book. No stranger can book the same time slot as you.

Although there is no age limit to our games, please take note of the game description before booking. Some of our games are frightening and may not be suitable for younger players.
All our games have a fear factor so you can determine whether or not you want someone to play.
Our puzzles are suitable for all ages however may be more geared towards players 16 years and older.
Players under 8 years old play for free.

If you get stuck on a puzzle, it’s not game over. We have dedicated one-on-one gamemasters for all of our rooms. They are there to help you if you need any assistance. There is no limit or penalty for receiving hints throughout your game. The only thing at stake is your pride.

Unfortunately, our venue is located on the second floor of the building up a flight of stairs.
While the games themselves are accessible, our only entrance to the venue is not.

If you would like to reschedule or cancel your booking, please contact us at least 48 HOURS in advance to your booking time. Any time after this window, we cannot guarantee you a full refund for your game.
If you do not turn up to your booking, you will not be refunded.
Late players can enter the room as soon as they arrive at our venue, however they will not be refunded regardless of how much time is left for the game.
Players who are highly intoxicated or under the influence of drugs will not be permitted into the venue, nor receive a refund.

If you have more players than you have booked for, we can add them on the day! Just ensure you do not exceed the room’s maximum player count.
If you show up with less players than originally booked for, we can offer a refund or credit on the day itself. This will, in some cases, place your group into a different player pricing bracket. You will receive a refund for the amount reflected by your new pricing bracket.
If your player count drops below the minimum of 2 players you will not be able to play the game nor will you be refunded.

We are located at 2 / 134 Abercrombie Street, Chippendale NSW 2008.
Our entrance is located on Cleveland Street. A sign will be displayed on the exterior of the building and on our front doors.
We are a 5 minute walk from Redfern station and a rough 10 minute walk away from Broadway buses and Central station.
We are located so close to many major shopping centres and pre/post escape room outings and activities (restaurants, entertainment venues, shopping). Make a day or night out of coming to The Cool Space!

If your whole group arrives more than 10 minutes past your scheduled booking time, we will have to reduce your timer and the length of your game accordingly. Whole groups who arrive beyond 30 minutes past their scheduled booking time will forfeit their game and will not be refunded.
If only some players a part of your group are late you are allowed to start the game without them. We will allow them to join you when they arrive. If a group prefers to wait for their late players, they sacrifice time for their game and will enter with a reduced timer. Waiting for late players is capped at 30 minutes. Beyond this, you forfeit your game and will not be refunded.

Our only scary game is Seance.
Seance will never place you in any danger. Live actors will never make physical contact with any players.
Games can be stopped at any time if one or more players would not like to continue, however, they will not be refunded.

You don’t need anything but yourself and a positive attitude when you come to play. We have secure lockers to store whatever you don’t want to carry inside the room.
Our puzzles do not require any preparation or study. Outside knowledge is never required to solve our puzzles. All the resources you will need will be found inside the room.
